Engineering Capabilities:

GibbsCAM - "Art to Part" G-Code generation and solid part verification. Engineering Design and dimensioning to ASME Y14.5-1994, Solid Works CAD and ALGOR Finite Element Analysis and Multiphysics capabilities.

Mechanical Event Simulation. ACAD 2000, R13, R14: Mechanical Desktop, CATIA, PRO-E file conversion.

CATIA:

Dassault Systemes' CATIA Versions 4 and 5 is the cornerstone of CAMtech's Computer Aided Design (CAD), Computer Aided Engineering (CAE) and Computer Aided Manufacturing (CAM) applications. CATIA is also the de-facto standard within the aerospace community and important player in the automotive community. This integrated suite of products enables us to fully visualize and construct a 3D digital mock-up. The CAM capabilities of CATIA coupled with CGTech's Vericut allow us to visualize all machining processes prior to actual material removal, resulting in reduced errors. CATIA 5's parametric system and advance knowledge-ware capabilities will allow us to improve our time-to-market and help in further cost reduction.

Milling & Profiling Capability:

Gantry Multi Spindle Five-axis:
CAMtech has (6) five-axis gantry mills each having three spindles on 40 inch centers. Also the shop has (4) three-axis twin spindle machines with independent “Y” axis slides. The work envelope is 169 inches (Y) by 1200 inches (X). We also have a Saimp gantry mill 196 inches (X) by 157 inches (Y) with 73 inches in the Z-axis.

Five-axis Vertical with Pallet Changer:
CAMtech operates (3) five-axis vertical machine tools with large tool magazine and pallet changers. The work envelope is 16 inches by 24 inches and 12 inches in height. The spindles are 10,000 rpm for high metal removal rates.

Horizontal Machining Centers:
CAMtech has (2) horizontal machining centers with four-axis full contouring capability. The work envelope is 40 inches by 40 inches and 36 inches in height. The spindles are 12,000 rpm and each machine has tool magazines of 100 tool capacities. The machining centers are both equipped with pallet changers keeping the machine cutting metal while parts are loaded and unloaded.

Vertical Machining Centers:
CAMtech owns (12) vertical machining centers with a broad range of capability. Three of the vertical machining centers are three spindle, and one is a four spindle. The multi-spindles create a cycle time of one third the time of most machine tools. The vertical machining centers are equipped with pallet changers and tool magazines that allow efficiency in production.

Turning Centers:
CAMtech utilizes (10) turning center machine tools both four-axis and two-axis. The work envelope is from one half inch in diameter up to 30 inches in diameter with part lengths up to 33 inches. This turning capability is also combined with hydrostatic bar feeders.

Tooling Capabilities:

CAMtech has a fully integrated tooling department that has the experience in building everything from complex floor assembly jigs, composite mold fixtures, mill fixtures, to simple drill jigs, locating fixtures and other ancillary tooling. Our tooling group is capable of working in a variety of materials including Tool Steels, Invar, Tooling Boards, Tooling Dough, Kevlar and other Graphite/Carbon Composite. We utilize state of the art Laser Tracking capabilities and have an Age/Stress-Relieving Oven (20 ft (l) x 15 ft (w) x 12 ft (h)) at our disposal. CAMtech’s engineers were able to design and build the F-22 forward fuselage FAJ in 61 calendar days. The resulting tool when re-assembled at the customer’s facility aligned to within .001” to its original aircraft coordinates. In all CAMtech has designed and built over 1,500 tools for the F-22 program and was an integral part of the development program.

Cylinder Manufacturing for General Aviation:
CAMtech has manufactured cylinders for over ten years with 100,000 cylinders in operation throughout the general aviation fleet. These piston engine cylinders have machining tolerances of .0002 and require various manufacturing operations such as: honing, valve seat grinding and lapping, magnetic particle inspection and florescent penetrent inspection.

KC-135 Cargo Handling System:
CAMtech manufactures complete cargo handling systems for the KC-135 aircraft for the United States Air Force. This system consists of twenty-four subassemblies and more than 400 detail items in the bill of material. This program is managed by an operational computer system that manages multi-level bill of materials along with material requirements planning (MRP).

Gemini Telescope Secondary Frame:
CAMtech manufactured two secondary mirror frame assemblies for the National Science Foundation. The aluminum structure was welded and machined. The overall length was seven feet with a diameter of three feet. CAMtech held the overall length two less than .002 in a surface area of fifteen square feet.

AvStar Fuel Systems:
CAMtech manufactures over 150 detail parts for Lycoming and Continental piston aircraft engine fuel systems. The systems consist of small close tolerance holes with many intersections that require deburring and cleaning procedures done under microscopes.

Non-Destructive Testing Capabilities:

Magnetic Particle and Liquid Penetrant lines to detect cracks and part integrity with Level II Inspection.

Fluorescent Particle Inspection

Magnetic Particle Inspection

Fabricating and Welding:

CAMtech has many fabricating capabilities and military standard approvals for welding procedures. CAMtech has the experience of welding aluminum, steel, alloy steels, monel, stainless steel.

CAMtech fabricates precision assembles, large structures, frames as well as platforms for aircraft maintenance.
